Software engineer · hobby game developer
Hi, I'm Lucas Torti.
Welcome to my website, feel free to poke around!
I started working with computers because I wanted to make games, and my appreciation of technology only grew from there.
My most recent tech role was as a full stack software engineer at a startup, but I've also worked on a few other things along the way:
About
I've been messing around with code since elementary school, starting with Visual Basic, then JavaScript, C, and Java by high school. That curiosity turned into a software engineering degree, and eventually into real-world work: an early engineering hire at a Y Combinator–backed startup, physics simulation research at Chapman University, and automating the busywork out of an e-commerce team's day.
I've picked up leadership experience in a few different settings. I led a five-person team to the grand prize at the 2022 IEEE GameSIG Showcase, and years before that, I was senior patrol leader for my Boy Scout troop, planning meetings and keeping everyone on track. I like getting hands-on with a problem, building the tool or workflow that's missing, and sticking with the tedious parts until it's done right.
Right now, I'm working front-of-house at Wells Fargo while I search for my next full-time engineering seat. It's sharpening the relationship-building and product-sense side of the job while I keep building on the side. If you're hiring, let's talk.
